What business are we in?

Client:
Food Distribution Company
Business Challenge:
They had grown the business from a standing start to sales revenue of circa £20 million, but had lost sight of the business direction with revenues coming from areas different from those envisaged.
CONAC Role & Value:
Conac undertook a strategic review of thebusiness which resulted in a 2-day off site strategy review for seniorexecutives and board members. This review surfaced issues which stemmed from theirrapid growth, and the tacit understanding that they had landed in a verydifferent business.
Outcome:
As a result of this workshop, they completely reviewed their strategic plan to better align with the business they were now in and created a clear vision, strategy, and execution plan moving forward. This led to further incredible growth and an increase in their turnover of over £ 40 million in the next two years.

Good strategies are simple, clear, and measurable to all stakeholders

Client:
Professional membership organisation with over 70,000 members
Business Challenge:
The client asked us to help them understand their 56-page strategic plan that had been developed for them by one of the major consulting companies. This plan contained no fewer than 26 strategic objectives. It was commissioned to halt the decline in their membership numbers, which was not being achieved.
CONAC Role & Value:
Over a strategic workshop weekend with the leaders of their seven divisions, as well as the main board, they were able to reduce their strategic plan to a 3-page document, and reduce the number of strategic objectives that they would monitor, measure and report on to their stakeholders to 3 critical areas.
Outcome:
They communicated their strategic plan and key objectives to the various stakeholders and members with a clear path to connect and increase active participation. As a direct result, their membership resumed growth.
